Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato was discharged from Haryana-based Medanta Hospital on Wednesday following improvement in his health condition.
“There have been significant improvement in my diabetes and blood pressure condition,” said leader Mahato over telephone. “But the pains due to police beatings have not gone. I am still feeling weak.” He said he will stay in Delhi as the doctors have asked him to visit for a follow-up after seven days.
Mahato had been admitted to the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit for the past five days. Doctors attending to him said he had Vitamin D deficiency and needed nutritious food to regain strength.
Mahato was injured during a clash between cadres of the Madhesi Morcha and police personnel at the Biratnagar-Jogbani border on Devember 26. He was flown to New Delhi on January 1.
