Ever heard of a Flutterbye Flying Fairy? By pressing the button on the fairy base, a cute little fairy toy will lift off and take flight. Children can guide its movement by raising or lowering their hand. For little Maggie Adams of Asheboro, the Flutterbye Fairy took a wrong turn and landed Maggie on an upcoming episode of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (AFHV).“My husband Wes sent in the video over a year ago,” Maggie’s mom Bethany Adams said. “We used to show it to friends and family and they always laughed and joked about it and told us that we should send it in. We kept saying, ‘No, no, they’ll never show it.’“Three or four weeks ago, they (the show) called us and said it was going to be on this Sunday night and they would contact us after it airs.”Adams said that Maggie, who was 4 years old at the time the video was taken, is now a second grader at Neighbor’s Grove Academy in Asheboro. When she was told that her video would be shown on TV, she immediately asked Mom and Dad if they could go to Disney World if their video is chosen as a winner. (The Adams family will have an opportunity to win up to $100,000 if viewers choose their video.) -
